Needs concentrate. Make a batch first: Cold Brew Concentrate Recipe: Simple 1:4 Ratio

Ingredients (one drink)

  • 90 mL3 fl ozCold brew concentratefrom the concentrate recipe
  • 2 tbspSweetened condensed milk
  • 45 mL1.5 fl ozCold water
  • 6Ice cubes

US units are rounded. Weigh coffee and water if you can: a scale is how these ratios stay the same from batch to batch.

Steps

  1. Put the condensed milk and water in a short glass and stir until combined.
  2. Add the ice.
  3. Pour in 90 mL of concentrate and stir until the milk is mixed through.

The traditional version is brewed hot, one cup at a time, through a small metal phin filter. This one swaps in cold brew concentrate, so there is no brewing at the glass.

The concentrate is only lightly diluted here (1 part concentrate to 0.5 part water) because the condensed milk adds volume of its own. Change the amount of condensed milk to suit; the concentrate and water stay the same.
