About
A cold brew site that shows its numbers.
Ratios from the makers' own instructions, research re-plotted from the papers, gear chosen from spec sheets. Here's how it works.
Who runs it
I ♥ Cold Brew is an independent site, published under its own name. When a page says "we", that's who it means.
Why it exists
Most cold brew advice stops at "steep it 12 to 24 hours and use a coarse grind." The more useful numbers already exist. Maker manuals publish their recipes, and food scientists have measured what steep time, grind and temperature do to the cup. They're spread across PDFs and journal tables. This site collects them, checks them against each other, and turns them into settings you can brew with.
What's here
- The calculator works out coffee and water for concentrate or ready-to-drink, from ratios the makers publish.
- The Lab takes one question per file and answers it from published research: the numbers re-plotted, the method in plain language, and a list of what the studies didn't cover. How the Lab works.
- Gear guides and the spec database are built from manufacturer pages.
- Recipes are scaled from the calculator's ratios. Each one says whether we've made it yet.
What's tested and what isn't
Nothing on the site is hands-on tested yet. Gear guides built from published specs carry a Research roundup label, and they don't use scores, ratings or "we tested" language. When a guide is tested, its label changes to Tested with the date, and the measurements go up as a Lab file with the raw data.
How we choose products
- We only list products that were in stock when we checked.
- Specs come from the manufacturer's page, or a retailer's when the brand's site can't be read, and each one is dated when we check it. A spec the brand doesn't publish shows as a dash. We don't fill gaps with guesses.
- Every pick says who it's for, why it's on the list, and what it costs you to own: cleanup, batch size, fridge space, filters, or a grinder you'll also need.
- Prices aren't listed. They change too often to keep right, so the link goes to the current one.
- Commission never puts a product on a list. It can decide which store we link to: a brand's own program over Amazon when both carry it.
How affiliate links work
Some links earn us a commission if you buy, at no extra cost to you. The disclosure page has the details.
