Needs concentrate. Make a batch first: Cold Brew Concentrate Recipe: Simple 1:4 Ratio

Ingredients (one drink)

  • 100 mL3.4 fl ozCold brew concentratefrom the concentrate recipe
  • 150 mL5.1 fl ozCold water
  • 6Ice cubes
  • 40 mL1.4 fl ozHeavy creamfor the cream topper
  • 40 mL1.4 fl ozWhole milkfor the cream topper
  • 1 tbspVanilla syrupfor the cream topper

US units are rounded. Weigh coffee and water if you can: a scale is how these ratios stay the same from batch to batch.

Steps

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice. Add 150 mL of cold water, then 100 mL of concentrate.
  2. Put the cream, milk and vanilla syrup in a small lidded jar. Shake hard for about 20 seconds, until it has thickened slightly but still pours.
  3. Pour the cream over the top and drink it with the cream still floating, or stir it in.

The topper is cream and milk shaken with syrup, not whipped, so it stays pourable.

Use any vanilla syrup you have, or stir 1 tsp sugar and a drop of vanilla extract into the milk instead.
