Needs concentrate. Make a batch first: Cold Brew Concentrate Recipe: Simple 1:4 Ratio

  • 90 mL3 fl ozCold brew concentratefrom the concentrate recipe
  • 30 mL1 fl ozFresh lemon juiceabout 1 lemon
  • 30 mL1 fl ozSimple syrupequal parts sugar and water, warmed until dissolved, then cooled
  • 120 mL4.1 fl ozSparkling water, cold
  • 6Ice cubes

US units are rounded. Weigh coffee and water if you can: a scale is how these ratios stay the same from batch to batch.

Steps

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice.
  2. Add the lemon juice and simple syrup, stir, then pour in the sparkling water.
  3. Pour the concentrate slowly over the back of a spoon so it lands on top.
  4. Garnish with a lemon wheel if you have one. Stir before drinking, or don't.

The lemonade is built in the glass, so the sweetness is yours to change: add syrup a teaspoon at a time and stop where you like it.

Make the simple syrup ahead; it keeps in a sealed jar in the fridge. Use fresh lemon juice, since bottled juice varies from brand to brand.
